What to expect as an employee:

  1. The available position is a long-term position for someone committed to employment. If you are looking for a temporary or short-term employment or just want out of your current position, this is not the job for you. This is a full time job with daytime work hours.  You will not be able to have time off during the day to attend college classes.
  2. The entire dental team is committed to providing excellent dental care and customer service. This will require paying strict attention to details of your job tasks and being able to deal with the public. Excellent communications skills and patience are essential. If you are easily irritated by demanding individuals or if you have difficulty accomplishing precision tasks, this is not the job for you.   Many doctors' offices  provide poor service to patients in handling insurance, scheduling appointments and handling account payments.  Our doctor is committed to providing excellent service to patients.  As a result, you will be expected to learn your job and perform it well.  Many large employers, such as Lowe’s and Wal-Mart, will not hold employees accountable and will allow employees to show up for work and perform their job poorly.   Our doctor expects all employees to be accountable for their work responsibilities and share in the work duties.
  3. The office environment is low-stress and fun.  Everyone is a team player, and everyone is committed to doing her share of the work.  Me-me people, drama queens, lasy people and people who constantly have personal problems that interfere with work are not welcome.
  4. Employees are treated with respect, and new ideas are welcome.
  5. Our office provides excellent on the job training. You will learn skills that will be valuable throughout your career.  Some of the training will be individual instruction and some of the training will be online and computer based.  However, most of the training material is WRITTEN.  You must be motivated to READ and STUDY the training materials.  You must be willing to put forth your time and your effort into learning the tasks of this job.  If you are someone that must have constant supervision while training or are not willing to read training materials, this is not the job for you.  You will be expected to learn new information and retain that information within a reasonable time period.  Our office has a web training site may be accessed by 24/7 so that you can train at your convenience.
  6. This office's schedule runs on time almost always. However, if patient care runs over into lunch time or after 5 pm, you will be expected to stay until all patient care is completed.  Almost never does patient care run after 5PM.
  7. While at work, commitment to the practice is required. Family problems must NOT interfere with job performance. All of the employees at this office are women with family obligations. We understand that family problems arise, and occasionally there are problems leading to work absences.  Yet, if you are someone that continually has family or personal problems that interfere with your work ability or cause frequent work absences, this is not the position for you.  Multiple work absences with little or no notice will result in your termination.
  8. This office is modern with well maintained equipment.
  9. All employees will be required to participate in office cleaning on a daily basis.
  10. Changes in salary are based on office performance. Employees with no dental experience will start at an introductory hourly rate that will increase on an as needed basis depending on job performance. Hourly rates for employees with prior dental experiences will be based on their level of skills. Salary increases may occur at any time based on performance.  Employees salaries are usually evaluated after the two or three months of work, but could change earlier if work performance dictates a change.
  11. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Fridays. Lunch is 12:00 to 12:45. Occasionally, the office will be closed on Friday. If needed, you will be required to attend some training sessions on Friday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
  12. Paid holiday benefits, paid vacation, and a retirement plan are available. There is no paid sick leave or personal days.
  13. The office must be kept neat and clean at all times. Everything is well organized, and you will be required to maintain this level of organization using the current system of organization.
  14. The office has policies that apply to all employees regarding on the job conduct and job performance. Employees that do not adhere to office policies or perform their job poorly will not be allowed to continue working in this office.
  15. Employees are required to behave in a professional manner towards patients and toward each other at all times. Rude, inconsiderate and selfish behavior will not be allowed. Appropriate language and professional attire will be required. Nose, eyebrow and lip piercings and unnatural hair color may not be worn in the office.  Visible tattoos are not allowed and must be kept covered.
  16. Cell phone use is not permitted anywhere in the office except in the staff lounge. Cell phone calls, text messaging and emailing are not permitted during work hours. Cell phones cannot be carried into the office treatment areas and cannot be carried in your pocket.   If you cannot be separated from your cell phone, this is not the job for you.  Personal use of the office computers and internet connection are not permitted at anytime.
  17. This job requires teamwork.  Teamwork means that you must cooperate with your co-workers to accomplish the daily work duties.  If you cannot get along with your co-workers, this is not the job for you.
